Main Features

Complete Windows XP Certification!

We will have completed Windows XP certification from Microsoft. (Not that SAFE does not run under Window XP now, it's just that SAFE 5.0 has been tested and given the 'seal of approval' from Microsoft.) By the way, no other program in our industry can say that.

XML Transaction Interface!

We will have completed an XML interface which is compatible with PrintTalk specification. This means that as third party vendors come into compliance with this industry standard, you will be able to seamlessly pass information between SAFE and these services.

Sales Orders And P.O.s!

Automated Assemblies!

You can now automatically create Assemblies (a.k.a. Kits/Bills of Material) which consist of multiple component line items. The Assembly can then be used as a single line item on a Sales Order. Best of all? You can post separate A/P Bills to each component which maintains the correct overall profitability of the line on the sales order line item!

A/P Posting Within Sales Orders!

You can now control and view all postings to A/P directly from inside a Sales Order! Yippee! No more bouncing back and forth between Sales Orders and the Bills Browse to see which costs were posted to an order!

The same applies to Purchase Orders for inventory. You will be able to receive in products and apply any number of costs to each line without leaving the Purchase Order screen.

User May Control Sales Order Line Item Numbering!

You can now change the order of Sales Order lines at will. In other words, if you add a line item to a Sales Order, you can make it appear as the first line of the transaction.

Easier Mixed Units Of Issue!

Selecting alternate package quantities has been made much easier. No more Unit/Lot/Package Quantity. You will be able to 'purchase by the thousand' and 'sell by the carton' and never have to worry about selecting the proper buttons or Units of Measure on Sales Orders and P.O.s. This will make the entire process 100% fool-proof, once and for all.

One Click Shipping!

If the item you are releasing is shipping to a single Site, you can enter the Shipped Quantity and complete the line item with a single click!

Inventory And Forms Management!

Improved Inventory Audit Trail!

You will now be able to view and manage, from a single Audit Trail, any Product's overall balance at all Sites, regardless of how many Site it is stored at.

Numbering By Site!

You will be able to enter the starting number for each Site on a particular Product. For example, an order of checks, shipped to five locations, can now be tracked with a separate starting and ending number for each branch.

Note: This may require redrawing your Purchase Order Sheet in order to take full advantage.

Imprinting By Site!

You will be able to enter separate Imprinting information for each Site on a particular Product. For example, a single order of business cards may be shipped to three individuals with separate imprinting tracked for each individual.

Note: This may require redrawing your Purchase Order Sheet in order to take full advantage.

Easier Cost Center Reporting!

Several Cost Center based forms management reports are now standard with SAFE. You can easily group releases and production orders together by Ship From or Ship To which makes reconciling inventory at each storage site easy.

Automated Releases!

You will now be able to enter an order once (say for a million forms you are warehousing for a customer) and have SAFE automatically remind you to generate a release for 100,000 on the tenth of every month!

Seasonal Usage Calculations!

You can now mark forms for a percentage of expected usage within a given season.

Better Inventory Auditing!

We will have a Product History Error Scanner which will identify and help you correct any invalid postings to inventory. This feature will make it easy to find any errors which are affecting inventory levels.

Intelligent Forms Management Counting!

A number of new features will help prevent invalid counts. For example, if a count is entered which throws the product into negative usage (indicating a previous release was missed), WinSAFE will ask the user if a release should automatically be entered for the difference. When the vendor's invoice arrives, you will be able to link the invoice to this release automatically.

Accounting Functions!

Easier A/R Payments!

You can now automatically receive payments on all open invoices for a customer's check with one click (no need to enter separate line items for each invoice!) If the customer is on Summary Billing, you can automatically apply payment to all component invoices with one click! Of course, you still have complete control over editing individual lines if you need it, but for your smaller clients (who typically only have one or two open invoices at a time) or large customers on Summary Billing, this will save lots of time every day!

Miscellaneous!

Payroll Import Extensions!

Eliminate tedious manual payroll entries by purchasing our Payroll Extensions for SAFE 5.0! Automatically import disk based reports from ADP and Paychex to your Check Register and General Ledger!

Built-In UPS and FedEx Tracking!

Right click on any line item to get detailed tracking information on any item shipped via UPS or FedEx! (Does not require external UPS or FedEx software.)

How To Obtain This Upgrade

1. To obtain this upgrade, go to www.suntowersystems.com/downloads/safeee/setupex.exe Run this program on your server.
2. There are new passwords for this upgrade. Your existing installation password will not work! Please contact us for an updated password.
3. If you have any custom forms from Suntower Systems do not run SETUP until you have received updated forms from us!
4. It is critical that you backup your complete SIMPLE folder before you run SETUP.
5. When you run SETUP, read the installation options carefully so as not to overwrite any existing data! Install only the Program and no data files besides the Sorts and Filters!
6. As we have been saying: you will not be eligible for this upgrade if your RSS subscription is not current. You will be charged an additional $180.00 to upgrade to SAFE 4.0 from SAFE 3.3 if your support contract is not current by March 1, 2001. If your version of SAFE has not been upgraded to Version 3.3, you will be charged an additional upgrade fee to receive version 4.1.

IMPORTANT STEPS TO FOLLOW WHEN UPGRADING!

1. Backup your server before you begin!
2. Test your backup!
3. Run Scan Disk and then Defrag with all options activated to make certain that your disk is in good shape.
4. Start SAFE 4.2
5. Click on each icon on the Tool Bar (Customers, Vendors, Sales Orders, A/P Bills, Products, etc.) Write down the record count for each browse. (The number is at the lower left of each browse.)
6. Install SAFE 5.0, making certain that no users are logged into SAFE
7. Open SAFE 5.0. Again, make certain that no other users attempt to log into SAFE.
8. Again, open each icon on the Tool Bar. If you see the pale yellow Upgrading File window, wait until it completes. Then proceed to the next icon and repeat.
Note: Be patient! The file upgrade process may take up to an hour, depending upon how much data you have saved.
9. After each file is upgraded, check the record counter in the browse and compare it with the record count you write down for the same browse in Step #5. If they do not match, stop immediately and restore your original backup! You will then need to start over from Step #6.
Again: If any data file does not properly upgrade, you must restore your entire backup. Do not attempt to restore only one or two files in order to save time!
