Sales Orders And P.O.s!
Post Art To A/P Independent Of Product Costs! You can now post art independently of product when shipping sales orders. <IOW>, you can post the vendor's invoice for art before  the bill for product comes in, without having to go into A/P.
Easier To Use Sales Order Entry! The line item entry screen was re-drawn to allow for more Ship Tos to be viewed at one time. Notes have been moved to a button which opens a separate window. The Sales Order Notes are activated by right-clicking on the sales order browse. You may now edit all these notes at any time. Even after the job has been invoiced!
Print Reorder P.O.s With Or Without Specs! You can now choose whether or not to print the specs for a PO. In other words, if you are ordering multiple items, and they are all reorders, you can elect to group them on a single Stock PO sheet.
More Imprint Fields! Specs now support 15 imprint fields for labels, ad specs and business cards.
New Fields For Samples And Proofs! Each sales order and now allows for a Sample Quantity and Proofing Type which can print on POs. Note that we said 'can'. Your POs must be re-drawn to take advantage of this.
New Proofing Table! There is a new Proofing Type table in the Inventory menu to automatically select Proof Types on P.O.s.
New Imprinting Table! OPTION: Each sales order and PO line item may now be linked to a separate Imprint table. This allows you to specify, for a example, separate imprinting for each ship to on a sales order. So if you have a run of business cards to ten people, you can enter separate imprint info for all 10. This requires that your P.O.s be re-drawn to support.

Inventory And Forms Management!

New Style Field!

 There is a new Style field for each Product which allows you to override the Spec Type for a product's Product Type as needed. This corresponds to the Spec Type ID field in the Product Types Browse. For example: 'E' for Envelope, 'L' for Label, 'K' for Checks, etc...

More Flexible Packaging Quantities!

There are now separate sections in each Product Master for Count Quantities, Sell Quantities, and Inventory Quantities. The Package Quantity field has been renamed Sell Package Quantity and is now used strictly for selling by Package Quantity.

The new field Outer Package Quantity goes with Inner Package Quantity and these two now apply only  to Forms Management Counts and Releases. Example: Outer Package Quantity: 2500/CARTON. Inner Package Quantity: 50/WRAP.

Accounting Functions!
Auto-Complete Discounts! If you enter a short pay in a customer payment or A/P, the discount is automatically filled in for you.
More Vendor Aging Information! SAFE now tracks the Highest Balance, Average Balance, Average Days To Pay and Days Past Due for your vendors as well as your customers.
More Flexible Sales Tax Reporting! Each Sales Tax Entity now has it's own Type field so that you can create sales tax reports which are sorted and totalled by Type, such as 'City', 'State', 'MTA', etc.
Close G/L, A/R and A/P Independently! You can now increment the G/L period while continuing to post A/P and or A/R to the same period. This lets you move forward for invoicing customers while finishing up A/R.

Contact Management!
New Field for Contact Department! New field: Department
New Field For Cost Centers! New field: Cost Center. This allows you to set up cost centers for different contacts linked to the same Customer. This is primarily used for our On-Line LInk (Ollie!) to allow you to pre-set ordering configurations for your end-users. (More on this next month!).
New Fields For On-Line Linker! New fields: User ID, Password. These are used with our On-Line LInk (Ollie!) to allow you to provide secure log-ins for your end-users.

Postal Codes Now Includes Area Codes!

The Postal Codes table now supports Area Codes. Area codes typed in here will automatically populate phone numbers when entering customers, vendors or contacts. You can also use this in tele-marketing to group territories by postal code or area code. You can purchase a program called Area Code Fix from Corex (www.corex.com, the makers of CardScan 300(r)) which will automatically fill in the area codes for you.
Improved Reports The Employee Totals Report has been re-designed to allow you to see the number of orders over a given time period, plus the commission earned during these periods.
Installation You can now automatically set up separate companies: Demo and Clean.

All movies and tutorial PDFs are now included with the CD.

The United Kingdom support is a standard installation option

 

How To Obtain This Upgrade
1. To obtain this upgrade, go to www.suntowersystems.com/downloads/safeee/setupex.exe Run this program on your server.
2. There are new passwords for this upgrade. Your existing installation password will not work! Please contact us for an updated password.
3. If you have any custom forms from Suntower Systems do not run SETUP until you have received updated forms from us!
4. It is critical that you backup your complete SIMPLE folder before you run SETUP. 
5. When you run SETUP, read the installation options carefully so as not to overwrite any existing data! Install only the Program and no data files besides the Sorts and Filters!
6. As we have been saying: you will not be eligible for this upgrade if your RSS subscription is not current. You will be charged an additional $180.00 to upgrade to SAFE 3.3 from SAFE 3.2 if your support contract is not current by November 10,2000. If your version of SAFE has not been upgraded to Version 3.3 by January 1, 2001, you will be charged an additional upgrade fee to receive version 4.0.
